Maharashtra Government's New EV Policy, Everything the Policy contains

As EV Industry is what is the future, after Gujrat Maharashtra Government has introduced New EV Subsidy

An Overview of Policy

  • 5,000 per Kwh Will be offered for Four-Wheelers, while the Road Tax has been waived off

  • First 15,000 AC or slow-charging stations makes will get a rebates of 10,000 Per Chargr Station, while the first first 500 of them will get a rebate of 5 Lakh Per Charger.

  • The Policy Aims to make 25% of Transportation EV by year 2025

  • the 25% aims electrification in intra-city public transport in Mumbai, Aurangabad, Pune, Nagpur and Nashik

EV market is definitely is what future is and to leverage the EV Market, After Gujarat it's Maharashtra which showcased their new EV Policies which gave incentives from 10,000-1.5 Lakh. The new EV Policy will be beneficial for both the Buyer as well as the seller as it provides various incentives for both.

The new Policies as the other states are applicable on two,three and 4 wheel vehicles which will receive a high incentive on purchase. As we know major car companies have their plants in Pune for Manufacturing it's definite Maharashtra can be the major EV Production house making Private as well as commercial EV Vehicles at great extend.


What's the New Policy

The new Policy Aim's to have 10% share in vehicles being registered till 2025, also new property developers making new Property have to reserve few spots for the same in residential, commercial and office spaces. “We are trying to set up public charging stations on highways at a distance of 25km. These stations should cater to the charging requirements of long-haul passenger and freight vehicles like e-buses, electric trucks, etc," Aditya Thackeray stated.


The New Policy aims to built around 2500 EV Charging station in Maharashtra in Major Cities like, Mumbai Metropolitan Region, Pune,Nagpur, Nashik, Aurangabad, 30 in Amaravati and Solapur, by 2025.. The Government has introduced Incentives for the same. Slow Charging station stations (15000) units will be getting a rebate of around Rs. 10,000 Per charger and Fast charging (500 units) will get a higher incentive of around 5 Lakh Per Charger.


Policy For two Wheeler

Electric two Wheeler with the battery Capacity of 3 kWh will have a incentive of around 44,000.

Parts of it

Basic Incentive- 10,000 Early Bird Offer (Before 31 December) 15,000 , Assured Buy Back &Minimum 5 Year Battery Warranty : 12,000 Scrappage Incentive (shifting from Petrol): 7000. It makes a total of 44,000

People buying after 31 December won't get the early bird offer resulting into lower Incentive of around 29,000


Policy For Three-Wheeler

Three Wheeler with the Battery Capacity of 7 kWh offers a much higher incentive of around 92,000

Parts of it

Basic Incentive- 30,000 Early Bird Offer (Before 31 December) 35,000 Assured Buy Back &Minimum 5 Year Battery Warranty : 12,000 Scrappage Incentive (shifting from Petrol): 7000. It makes a total of 15,000. IT rounds up to 92,000


Policy for 4 Wheeler

Electric 4 Wheeler with battery Capacity of 30kWh and higher makes the high ring on incentive of around 2.75 Lakh

Parts of it

Basic Incentive- 1,50,000 Early Bird Offer (Before 31 December) 1,00,000. Scrappage Incentive (shifting from Petrol/ Diesel):25,000. The roundup rings to 2.75 Lakh.


For 3 Wheeler as well as 4 Wheeler being purchased after 31 December will have the deduction of Early Bird Offer,

Government will be providing special tax rebates for people who opt for private EV Charging station installation in their homes


The Plan

15 per cent of the 18,000 MSRTC are going to shift from fossil fuel to Electric Vehicle by 2025. "all the benefits under 'D+' category of mega projects will be provided to these industries irrespective of location of manufacturing unit in the state. This incentive will be applicable from the date of notification of policy and will be disbursed through the Industries, Energy and Labour Department” is stated in the EV Policy.


The Government will try making Nashik-Pune highway, Mumbai-Nashik expressway, Mumbai-Pune expressway and the under-construction Mumbai-Nagpur expressway a EV Ready Highway by 2025. All the incentive are added to the FAME II Policies
